Kiseena left Seyda Neen bright and early today. The air was not too warm
and sticky, and Kiseena had almost forgotten the smell of the evil
water from last night. Kiseena said her good-byes to Elone, Hrisskar,
Arrille and yes, even Fargoth, before leaving the way the words of
Elone's directions told. North from town, then east along the road,
following signs. Kiseena was glad to get the sound of the big silt-bug
out of her mind.
The trail was long and mostly boring. Kiseena fought a small yellow
leech-thing that Kiseena later found out was called a scrib. What is it
with Vvardenfell and the creepy, disgusting animals? Where are the dogs
and deer and cute bear cubs of Cyrodiil?
It was not long after Kiseena passed a path that led north to a place
called Pelagiad that Kiseena met a very well-dressed woman named
Maurrie. She was very nervous and said she had recently been robbed. The
bandit had stolen her jewels and then left toward the nearby imperial
town. Maurrie was not very concerned with trying to recover her jewels -
instead she was more concerned with meeting the bandit again. The woman
was almost giddy with feelings for the bandit and told Kiseena of him
for a long time. Then, begging for Kiseena's help, Maurrie gave this one a
glove and asked her to find the bandit, named Nelos something.
Had Kiseena not just passed the road to that town, Kiseena would have
said no. Plus, this one has a soft-spot for love, no matter how foolish
it may sound. In Pelagiad, a woman suggested Kiseena look in the local
tavern for this Nelos mer. The elf was sitting in one of the dark
corners of the Halfway Tradehouse, no doubt working on his mysterious
rogue appearance. Kiseena was happy to see the confusion when Kiseena
showed Nelos the glove. Nelos scribbled words on a small paper and asked
Kiseena to return the paper to Maurrie.
The cynic voice in Kiseena's head says that if Kiseena knew the extent
of the back-and-forth between woman and mer that this one might have
refused the task from the start. But there is an odd charm to having a
hand in the affairs of others in a way that does not involve hiding in
shadows and curious fingers. Sadly, the only reward that Maurrie had for
Kiseena was the suggestion that Kiseena meet her friend Barnard in a
town called Tel Branora, saying that we would "get along famously."
Kiseena has not met this man or mer, but has doubts of such a thing.
For now, Kiseena eats a short lunch out of sight of Maurrie (who is no doubt
headed soon to Pelagiad) and writes words of the morning's events.
